Through the eyes of a child, life is a series of fresh and surprising experiences. Each day brings new fears and new wonders. The giggling excitement of the first carnival ride. The hurt of a skinned knee, the safety of a caregiver’s hug. Fear of the dark. Adventure. Curiosity. Self-discovery. Wholehearted, pure love.
To open our 40th Season the choirs offer an expansive program reflecting on childhood and identity. We have so much to learn from a child’s perspective, from our own childhoods. What do you remember?

We are elated to return to the beautiful Lourdes Chapel at Assisi Heights for the popular Christmas at Assisi concerts, this year entitled “A Mother’s Joy.” Christmas staples and holiday favorites will mix with selections exploring themes of new life, motherhood, and caretaking.

Popular psychologist Adam Grant quickly explains why he is polite with servers, offering an everyday take with a timeless message. Writers, thinkers, and philosophers across history and cultures note the importance of treating strangers with respect. And we never know – a single, unexpected interaction with a stranger could lead to a friendship. Choral Arts’ midwinter concert offers repertoire centering on how we relate to another – a stranger on the street, an acquaintance, a friend.

let love come
We conclude our 40th season with “Let Love Come,” a reflection on the value of community, fellowship, and belonging, which goes beyond the individual and radiates outward from our families and close relationships. As composer-poet Amy Beth Kirsten writes, “Let love come in whatever way it will.” A strong spirit of love has been present in Choral Arts Ensemble, producing inspiring music, close friendships, and meaningful civic impact throughout our history.
Honoring the past and looking forward to a bright future, we are excited to present two premiere commissions by Shruthi Rajasekar and Alex Berko.
